Why choose CoachNick's virtual training?
Escape the noise of the arena and embrace a focused, personalized approach to off-ice hockey development. Coach Nick has dedicated the last two years to crafting off-ice training programs for kids aged 7 to 15, ensuring each session is tailored to individual needs and interests.
Inclusive & adaptable
No matter your on-ice skill level, our off-ice sessions are designed to be inclusive. Not on a team? Not much of a skater? No problem! All you need is a hockey stick, gloves, and an openness to learn.
Fun and engaging
These virtual sessions are as entertainment-based as they are effective for speeding up the learning curve on the ice. If having fun isn't part of the plan, what's the point? Enjoy the process, and look forward to every session.
Beyond the noise
Overcoming the frustrations of hockey politics, Coach Nick provides a fresh start. These sessions are about more than just skills; they help kids get out of their own heads and focus on personal growth.
Who benefits most?
Our off-ice sessions are ideal for young players who struggle with edge skills and understanding the importance of weight transfer. Balancing exercises, a core component of our training, easily translate to improved on-ice performance.
Key skills gained
The biggest gain from working off-ice is a comprehensive understanding of how important weight transfer is, particularly for "stacking the hip" in backwards skating. Coach Nick emphasizes attention to detail in a classroom-like environment, fostering self-correction and intentional practice.
A typical session
Each virtual session runs for approximately 50 minutes. Players only need a hockey stick, hockey gloves, a bottle of water, and a roll of green painter's tape. Coach Nick often provides a grid pattern for kids to tape on the floor, which serves as a visual aid and makes exercises more engaging, drawing kids into the learning process.
